We Do Not Sell Through: National Furnishing, ABC Home Store, Elite Decor, I-Dollar Store or U-Save More. Those websites are all operated by the same company and have illegally copied our pictures and text from our website and are selling a cheap imitation of our beds and have many complaints filed against them. We are not affiliated with them.

Bed Frame: Our beds are made from Solid Pine Wood. Most of our competitors are made from particle board or metal.
Freestanding: Our beds are freestanding and very sturdy with large legs (corner posts). Some of our competitors use very thin lightweight posts and require you to attach the bed to the wall. For example the IKEA STORA webpage says: "WARNING - Serious or fatal crashing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To prevent this furniture must be permanently fixed to the wall."
Custom Built: All beds are Custom Built to your exact specifications so it will work with any mattress thickness, any ceiling height and any room size. Most of our competitors require a very tall ceiling and can only hold a thin mattress.
Fast Shipping: We build each bed in a few days and transit time once shipped is 1 day to the East Coast and 5 days to the West Coast. Most of our competitors quote 8 - 12 weeks for custom beds.
Weight Capacity: Our beds are very sturdy and designed for Youth, Teen, College Students and Adults with a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs. per level. For parents that like to read to their child in bed you are going to want the increased weight capacity and sturdiness our beds provide. Most of our competitors beds are designed for young children with a typical weight capacity of 150 - 200 lbs., which includes the weight of the mattress and person. For example Pottery Barn PB-Teen and IKEA beds have a weight capacity of just 200 lbs. If the bed manufacturer does not clearly list the weight capacity, chances are it was designed for very young children.
Mattress Foundation Bed Slats: Our beds (except the Dorm Beds) come with a complete mattress foundation bed slats which does not require a bunkie board. Most of our competitors beds require you to purchase a separate bunkie board or plywood platform to support the mattress.

If the competitors website does not clearly state this, you should contact them to verify it meets the CPSC Guidelines or to see if they have had any recalls. Many of our competitors (including PB-Teen) have has recalls on their Loft and Bunk Beds due to structural failures and safety violations.
Our loft, bunk and high rise beds were designed utilizing the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) safety guidelines. The upper level should not be used by children under the age of 6. Only use a properly sized mattress on the bed. If modifications or alternations are made it must conform to the CPSC Document #071 requirements. The customer must assemble this bed to ensure the top of the safety rail is at least 5" above the top of the mattress and there are no opening around the mattress area that is greater than 3-1/2". If this bed is to be used in an institutional environment (dorm room), a single safety rail must be installed on the front (long) side, and if the back side is not firmly up against a wall, a back safety rail must be used. If this bed is not in an institutional environment, then safety rails must be installed on all 4 sides with an opening to be able to climb in. The customer must follow the assembly instructions.
Since College Bed Lofts cannot control the quality of the assembly nor modifications made to the loft, Eastbay Solutions Group, LLC, web: CollegeBedLofts.com will not be held legally liable from any accidents, injuries or property damage resulting from the use of our beds. No horseplay, jumping or leaning over the edge is allowed on our beds. You must use the ladder to climb up into the upper bunk. Because of the very nature of sleeping on an elevated surface, there are obvious and inherent risks involved due to falling. This risk is enhanced when consciousness is limited or impaired due to sleep, lack of sleep, illness, consumption of alcohol, taking medications, inhalation of smoke/fumes or similar factors. The loft is an all natural wood product and will burn when fire or sufficient heat is present. Elevated beds may also create obstructions or impediments that increase the hazards encountered in a fire or other emergency by hindering evacuation or fire suppression activities. Customers who choose to use our bed shall be deemed to have assumed all risks of accidents, injury and property damage associated with their placement and use.
As a general safety precaution do not place the loft near any window, door, closet, fire/smoke alarm or ceiling fan. All college residence halls have specific requirements regarding the use and placement of lofts and students are required to follow all college requirements.
The safety rail must be in use at all times!

With a loft bed you raise the bed off the floor and utilize the space underneath for a desk, storage or a nice soft bean bag chair to snuggle up and read. When multiple children share a room a loft gives them each more personal space.
For Youth, Tween & Teens. Does your child need more space for a desk, a nice quiet reading area or a place to store all their books, games and stuff? If it is not assembled, this rapid drying could warp the wood. The warranty is void if the loft is not assembled within 30 days of arrival.
