Our Bunk Beds are designed for all ages, youth, teen, college students and adults. The built-in ladders at each end are notched, glued, screwed and bolted to the bed frame. The Weight Capacity is 1,000 lbs. per level and with our tongue & groove construction and extreme heavy duty design it makes our beds one of the sturdiest on the market and will hold up to the toughest youth, teen, college student or adult environment. Our beds are free-standing and do not need to be bolted to a wall for support. All beds have a Lifetime Warranty.

The bed, options and accessories are all priced separately so you can mix and match them as needed to create your unique custom one-of-a-kind bed. You can see the Total Price at the bottom of this page by pressing View Total Price button. From the order form below you can order all sizes and add accessories such as angled ladders, shelving and desks.

Please contact us if you need a custom length or width bed or if you are planning on placing a Futon, sofa or large item underneath. We can build it to any size you need. Also please call us if you need help on the ordering process or would just like to place a phone order. We strive to make the ordering process as easy as possible.

We custom build each bed to your exact specifications so it will work with any ceiling height and any mattress thickness. Select the options and accessories below to create your unique bed. The amount of space you get above and between the bunks depends on your ceiling height, mattress thickness and the leg height you select. For example, if you have an 8' Ceiling and 8" Mattress, you will get 30" Above. For the lower bunk, we set the mattress at 10" from the floor. Using the above example of 58" space underneath and 6" thick mattress, the lower mattress will be 16" from the floor and will give you 42" of space between the bunks. Use our Height Calculator to see how much space you will get using your specifications. We normally set the Space Above the Mattress to the ceiling at 30". For most people this is adequate and meets the Consumer Products Safety Commission Guidelines as well as most college's requirements.

All Hardware is included with each bed. All beds come with the Mattress Foundation Bed Slats and you do not need to supply a box spring, bunkie board or plywood with our beds, you place the mattress directly on top of our bed slats. The bed frame and all major components are all solid Spruce wood. The bed is unfinished, hand sanded and ready for paint or stain by the customer. More information is available on our Product Specifications page.

We build beds in Twin (single), Twin-XL (single-XL), Full (double), Queen, King, California King and custom sizes. Mattress not included.

We custom build each bed to your exact specifications and use the Ceiling Height and Mattress Thickness to calculate how much space you will get above and underneath the mattress. We also make sure we leave enough room for the safety rails above the top of the mattress. If you have a low ceiling we will adjust the leg height to make sure everything fits properly. Use our Height Calculator to see how much space you will get using your specifications.

If you have an odd size mattress, a crib mattress, need a custom size to fit into a tight space, have a ceiling greater than 10' or a mattress greater than 16" thick please contact us and we will build you a custom sized bed.

Youth Safety Rails meet the Consumer Products Safety Commission Loft & Bunk Bed Guidelines and is required for all children under 13 years old. Each Safety Rail Set includes safety rails on all four sides with a small opening to enter the bed. The number of safety rails sets needed are: (2) sets for mattresses up to 8" thick and (3) sets for mattresses up to 16" thick. The Safety Rails are also used as a Pillow Stop to prevent pillows from falling off.

Adult Use Safety Rails are designed for college students and adults only. They must not be used by children under 13 years old. One safety rail is placed 5" above the top of the mattress on the front (long side) and if the back is not pushed up against a wall an optional second safety rail may be placed on the back.

Pillow Stop: If you purchase the Adult Use Safety Rails there is no Safety Rail at the headboard end of the bed to prevent your pillow from falling out. You can optionally add a Pillow Stop to your order.

Safety Rail Height Above Mattress: For Youth Safety Rails the top of the Safety Rails are placed 5" above the top of the mattress which follows the Consumer Products Safety Commission guidelines. If you have young children and would like the safety rails to be higher we also offer additional safety rail sets to go 10", 15" or 20" above the top of the mattress. You will also need to select the Taller Legs below to be able to add additional sets of safety rails.

Custom Loft Bed

Leg Height: We have multiple leg heights available based on your ceiling height. If you ordered the Extra Safety Rails above you will need to select the next size taller legs. Standard Legs are for ceilings up to 8', Extra Tall Legs for ceilings up to 9' and Super Tall Legs for ceilings up to 10'.

The Super Tall Legs are considered FedEx Oversized Packages and the oversize charge is included in the price.

We always cut the legs to the proper height based on your specifications.

Leg Top Design: We have Square Top & Round Top Legs. The Round Top Legs adds a nice decorative look and is very popular with beds for kid's bedrooms.

Please contact us if you need legs for ceilings greater than 10'.

Space Above and Between the Bunks. We position the mattress near the top of the legs leaving enough room for the safety rail(s) and giving you a minimum of 30" of space above the mattress to the ceiling. The bottom mattress starts at 10" from the floor. If you want the bottom mattress to be set a little higher or lower or if you have custom specifications, you may enter them into the "Custom Specifications" box provided during checkout.

Use our Height Calculator to see how much space you will get above and between the mattresses using your specifications.

You can create a custom bed to meet your needs by selecting the accessories below

Headboards and Shelving are available for both the Upper and Lower Bunks. They may be installed at either end. Headboards with Shelves are 5-1/2" deep, they overhang the mattress by 3" and does not interfere with the placement of the pillow or the person sleeping. The shelves are perfect for storing such items as a cell phone, iPod, iPad, glasses, alarm clock, books or a reading light. The Slatted Headboard has a 1/2" gap between the slats allowing you to pass your charger cord between the slats to be used as a nighttime charging station. The Slatted Headboard can also be assembled in a Shiplap type design by placing the slats close together. Please contact us if you need a custom headboard or a headboard at both ends.

Single & Double Bookshelf Headboards may be used just by themselves or may be combined with the other headboards below.

By themselves they do not serve as a Pillow Stop. The Pillow Stop comes with one of the Headboards below or when selecting the Safety Rails.

View the Single & Double Bookshelf Headboard Specs.

Slatted / Shiplap Headboard is 20" high with a 1/2" gap between the slats and also serves as a Pillow Stop. It can also be assembled in a Shiplap type design by placing the slats close together. You may lean up against it to read in bed. The second photo shows it combined with the Double Bookshelf. The Single Bookshelf may be installed at any height. The gap between the slats allows you to pass your charger cord between the slats to be used as a nighttime charging station.

Solid Headboard is 20" high and also serves as a Pillow Stop and you may lean up against it to read in bed. The second photo shows the Solid Headboard combined with the Double Bookshelf. The Single Bookshelf may be installed either in the upper or lower position.

The Short Bookshelf goes the short width of the bed, between the bunks and may be attached anywhere at either end. They are great for storing books, toys, games, pictures and many personal items. They are 5-1/2" deep and go the width of the bed. You can order multiple shelves to create enough storage space for your needs.

The Long Shelf goes the across the back (long side) of the bed between the bunks. They are 5-1/2" deep and go the length of the bed. You can order multiple shelves to create enough storage space for your needs.

The Short Desk goes the width of the bed may be installed on the outside end of the bed. It can also be installed at a higher location so you can stand at the desk. Studies show that standing at a desk is better for you.

Vertical End Ladders: Are Built-In at each end of the bed and provides you access to climb up the end and gives the bed rigidity and support. You need about 2 feet of space at the end of the bed to be able to climb up.

Vertical Front Ladder: If you do not have enough space at the end to climb up you can use the optional Vertical Front Ladder (long side) to climb up the front.

Angled Front & Angled End Ladder: We also have Angled Ladders which may be attached to the Front (long side) or at the (short) End of the bed. The angled ladder 2x4 rungs are positioned flat giving you a larger surface area for climbing up and it is much easier on your feet. The Angled Ladder comes pre-assembled and is ready to be attached and extends out roughly 18". The angled ladder may be installed either on the Front (long side) or at the (short) End and either on the left or right. It can also be used on the multi-width bunks. The weight capacity of the standard angled ladder is 200 lbs.

HD-Heavy Duty Ladders: The weight capacity of the HD-Heavy Duty ladder is 300 lbs.

Angled Ladder Handrails: We also have Handrails for our Angled Ladders. They attach to both sides of the Angled Ladder and it makes it much easier for children climbing up and down.

Ladder Hooks: We have Ladder Hooks available if you need the angled ladder to be easily removable.

L-Shaped Beds: The L-Shaped Bed is a combination of two separate beds with a connector between them to join the beds together eliminating the center post giving you a larger open area underneath. The two individual beds may be two loft beds or a bunk and loft bed. To make a L-Shaped bed you need to select the L-Shaped Connector for the first bed only. The photo shows the Right Side L-Shaped Bed. Basically Bed #2 (a loft bed) is on the Right side of Bed #1 (a bunk bed).

The left diagram shows the Left Side L-Shaped Bed. It can be made in any size and the beds can be different sizes. For example, Bed #1 could be a Queen Loft or Bunk Bed for sleeping and Bed #2 a twin for sleeping, a play area or reading area.

This bed is perfect for kids sharing a small bedroom where two separate beds will not work out. You can also use one section as a bed and the other for a reading or play area. For a Play Area we will need to add a plywood platform to the top of the bed slats to form a solid top surface. You can then cover it with carpeting to make it a nice soft play area. The first bed in the shopping cart will be considered Bed #1 and the second bed will be Bed #2. If you have any custom specifications you can enter them during checkout.

How much space will it take up in the room? Using the diagram you can calculate how much space you will need depending on the size beds you are ordering.
Bed Outside Dimensions: Width: Twin 44" Full 59" Queen 65" Length: Regular 79" XL 84" XXL 88".

We offer Stairs with a Side Platform with optional shelves. With deeper steps it makes it easier for children walking up. The Side Platform can be either 30" tall (first photo) or 43" tall (second and third photo). It can go either the Full Width of the bed (first photo) with the steps extending beyond the front edge of the bed or Half Width of the bed (second photo) with the steps starting at the front edge of the bed.

You may also add Shelving underneath, maximum of (2) Shelves for the 30" tall and (3) Shelves for the 43" tall unit.

The standard width is 18". We can also custom build it to any length, width, height and storage shelves. Let us know if you need a custom unit built.

We have a Solid Platform available for the mattress that attaches to the top of the bed slats. This may be needed if you have a thin mattress, older uncomfortable mattress, futon mattress, air mattress, foam mattress that requires a solid base or you just want a solid platform to get a firmer mattress feel. It has four pieces of 1/8" MDF that covers the entire mattress area. It is attached to the top of the Mattress Foundation Bed Slats. This may be needed if your mattress manufacturer requires you to have a box spring, bunkie board or a totally flat solid platform surface to keep the mattress warranty active. This may also be used if you don't want to see the bottom of the upper mattress when sitting or sleeping underneath or if you want a solid separator between the top and bottom mattresses.
