Daybeds may be used for sitting and lounging as well as sleeping. They are popular in kid’s bedrooms, small apartments and vacation homes where it can do double duty as a sofa and a bed. For Airbnb, Vrbo, short term rentals & vacation homes a Daybed with a Trundle gives you additional sleeping space for more guests.
Youth Daybed. Are you ready to transition your toddler out of a crib and into a twin bed? We offer Safety Rails to provide more security for little ones from falling out. The 18” opening on the front may be placed at either end. Once your child gets older you may remove the front safety rails and use it as a normal bed.
Daybed Options. Front Safety Rails, Armrests, Floor Storage Drawers, Trundle Bed, Solid Mattress Platform and an upper Bunk Bed. You configure the bed by selecting the options on the order form.
Daybeds are made from solid wood and for a Cot Size (mattress size 30" x 75" & footprint 35" x 80"), Twin Size (39" x 75" & 44" x 80") or Twin-XL Size (39" x 80" & 44" x 85"). Mattress not included. The standard bed has 4" of storage space underneath and we assume you will be using a 6" - 8" thick mattress. The top of the 6" mattress is at 15" from the floor and the top of the Armrests are at 28". The back height is at 28" for the Low Back or 34" for the High Back.
Beds are Ready-To-Assemble, unfinished, hand sanded and ready for finishing by the customer or may be left unfinished. We can also custom build it to any mattress size & thickness and any armrest or back height. Please contact us if you would like to make a custom size.
The optional Floor Storage Drawers are large 20" wide x 7" high x 36" long drawers giving you plenty of under bed storage space. You can place (3) three under the Daybed. They slide on the floor and either have felt sliders for a hard floor or hard sliders for carpets. The floor storage drawers are great for storing additional bedding or for kids storing their toys, Lego Blocks and just about anything underneath the bed.
For additional sleeping space, an optional Trundle is also available with or without a Panel Cover. The Trundle mattress size is the same as the Daybed mattress size and maximum of 6" thick. Mattress not included. Trundles slide on the floor and either have felt sliders for a hard floor or hard sliders for carpets. We also offer a Panel Cover to cover the Trundle Bed. It is made from 1-1/2" thick clear (knot free) boards (the same material we make our desktops from) and comes with (2) pull handles.
Daybed / Bunkbed. A top bunk may be added to the Daybed for additional sleeping space. This comes with either the Angled End Ladder (as shown in the picture) or a Vertical End Ladder.
DayBed1: This customer requested three custom Daybeds formed in a U-Shaped configuration for a small bedroom. A Top Bunk was added to the first Daybed for additional sleeping space.
DayBed3: This customer needed a custom L-Shaped Daybed configuration for a small NYC apartment. The customer also wanted custom designed legs to be more modern looking and flush with the outside of the frame to match other furniture in the room. We also covered the frame with clear (no knots) Pine boards to give it a clean sofa like look. The customer did a great job staining and finishing of the bed.
