How much headroom is above & underneath? We custom build each bed to your
exact specifications, so it depends on your ceiling height and mattress
thickness. For example, the loft bed shown on the right with the student sitting
at the desk has a 6"
mattress, 58" headroom underneath and 30" above when using an 8' ceiling. The student
is 5' 9" tall and has about 6" of space from
the top of his head to the bed slats.

What is the difference between the College and the Home Loft Bed? They are the exact same bed with the
difference being in the number of safety rails.
The
College Loft Bed has one safety rail on the front (long) side and you can
optionally add more safety rails. The college loft bed is for a college
dorm room use only.
The
Home Loft Bed
has multiple sets of safety rails
(depending on the thickness of the mattress) on all four
sides and follows the Consumer Products Safety
Commission Youth Loft Bunk Bed
Guidelines.
The Youth Loft Bed may be used in homes, apartments and
college dorms.
Do you offer finished
beds or installation services? No, we do not offer painted or stained
beds. All our beds are
sanded (except for the bed slats) and ready for painting or staining by the
customer. The pictures on our website showing finished beds were done by our customers and
for illustration purposes to show you what a finished bed may look like.
We also do not offer installation services, however you can find local Painters
and Furniture
Assemblers by doing a Google search or using craigslist.com.

Last summer you custom made a queen bunk bed for our boys. We have 3

We recently purchased a bed for our son who is
going to be a college freshman in the fall. He is going to school locally, so we
figured we would redo his bedroom to give it the feeling of a dorm. I have to
say that I am far more impressed with the bed than I expected to be. It's

Wonderful, exactly what I needed to make my
New York City closet-sized room into a more spacious and livable space.
I did an extensive comparison between you and IKEA, and yours is higher
quality and much much studier than the IKEA loft, and the mattress fit
perfectly!
Please Note: A standard twin mattress is 39"
x 75" and most colleges use an extra long XL mattress which is
80". The IKEA
loft beds are designed for European mattress sizes which are a little smaller
than US sizes.

Solid Headboard or Double Bookshelf Headboard. The platform is 10" high.
