The Long Shelf is placed underneath and it goes the across the back of the loft.  You can use up to 3 shelves with the Regular 73" Legs or 4 shelves with the Extra Tall 85" Legs.  Since the Long Shelf may butt up to the Single Bookshelf, it is made 2" shorter on each end to allow enough room for the Single Bookshelf.

The Desk Shelf is placed underneath and makes the Desktop into a L-shaped desk.  Since the Desk Shelf may butt up to the Single Bookshelf, it is made 2" shorter to allow enough room for the Single Bookshelf.

The Desktop makes a perfect addition to your loft.  It can be placed on either side of the loft and either underneath or at the end of the loft.  It can also be used at the end of the High Rise Bed.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the shelves made from MDF?  What is MDF?  Are the Shelves available in Pine?

Medium Density Fiberboard, or MDF, is a composite wood product. It is a recycled product, made out of wood waste fibers glued together with resin, heat, and pressure.  MDF is appropriate for many applications, from cabinetry to furniture, because it is very smooth, uniform, and won’t warp.  This means that paint or polyurethane take well, leaving an attractive, finished surface.

MDF does not have a grain and will stain darker than the rest of the bed.  The reason we use it for the shelves and desktop is because it is very smooth and won't warp over time.  All of our shelves are made from MDF.  The reason we don't offer pine shelves is pine shelves that wide will warp and cup over time.  We do offer the desk in pine and we attach a sturdy frame underneath to keep it from warping.
